North Star

Did I make a wrong turn?
The foliage is awfully thick.
I don’t remember this being my natural habitat
my lips are parched.

Are you there?

I watch as the sun falls below the treetops
The breeze becomes bitter –
Inhospitable.
The underbrush : lacerating
My feet are dirty now, commitment ensues.

Shine bright, North Star
Guide me to safety
for this night

“Cover me with your feathers”.
Remind me who I am.
There is beauty out here-

all alone, I am.

I wait –
Whispering, you center me towards
My North Star.

  1. “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

Be encouraged that even in His silence God stands with you–always.
